Talk to Matt to put a bespoke band together for your event. A cool jazz band for a cocktail party or maybe a Flamenco duo for a summers day. The list of musicians and bands he has and continues to work with is too long to write here but they are all exceptional performers.
Matt started playing saxophone at the age of 13 and learnt his craft on the streets busking through his teenage years also leading and promoting bands from the age of 15. A notable session player with many bands it was his promotion of jazz in Manchester and the North of England lead to the foundation of, Matt and Phred’s Jazz Club and he was the instigator behind the Manchester Jazz Festival.
Matt is noted for his full sound on tenor and a flowing melodic playing style. Matt also plays flute and has studyed flamenco. He now plays with the band “Calaita flamenco son” who's album has just been released on World Music Network's Riverboat Records Label.
Matt's other original music projects include a collaboration with renowned Classical and Gypsy Romanian bassist Michael Cretu and Botswanan percussion player Chris Criuks forming the group CRAB.
